Welcome to the online home of the research group led by Thomas Schroeder at North Carolina State University, founded in the fall of 2022.
Research in the Schroeder lab focuses on the study and engineering of polymer-based materials and macromolecule-mediated transport processes.
In particular, we are interested in:
- Using polymers to control crystal growth processes
- Developing sustainable alternatives to traditional plastics
- Generating electrical signals and power using electrolyte gradients in gels
