Kayes obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering from City University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and his Master’s degree in Textile Engineering from Donghua University in Shanghai, China. He began his Ph.D. studies at North Carolina State University in Fiber and Polymer Science in fall 2022. He is currently conducting research under the supervision of Professor Schroeder on mineralization of biopolymers, crystal growth, bioinspired materials, etc.

Nicole obtained her B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Applied Mathematics from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico in May 2022. In the Fall of 2022, she moved to the US and began her M.S. in the Textile Engineering program at North Carolina State University. Whenever she is not studying or in the lab, she is probably making Puerto Rican coffee or reading historical fiction.

Brigitte Gallagher is obtaining her B.S in Textile Engineering-Product Development at North Carolina State University and is currently a junior in the program. Whenever she is not studying or in the lab, she is probably watching some Star Wars or reading science fiction books.
